Application

FURABOND – 1612 is especially suitable for the production of cores and moulds for grey iron and steel castings. Because of the especially low nitrogen and high furfuryl alcohol content FUROBOND – 1612 is the ideal binder for reclaimed sand. It can be processed common mixers as well as on continuous mixing devices.

Processing

Mixer must be cleaned thoroughly, especially after processing with alkaline binders. Sand must be clean, dry and free of alkali. Besides silica sand also chromite and zircon sand may be used.
